josefk
Dewey dusk till dewey dawn was a whopping four hours (just barely) and damp throughout. Astro is a smash and grab activity these days 😞. Sticking at it was rewarded with a finish on Saturn at about 04:30. The narrow rings look great. airing off now before packing up. I was hoping for a bit of white light Solar before calling it a night for the “full house” in one session but rising cloud is currently beating the sun to the tree line. Looking west: looking east: with a dawn chorus soundtrack: Edited June 2 by josefk

Ags
Been there, done that! I guess it can be expected if you insist on mucking about at 2am in the dark Edited June 8 by Ags
bosun21
Out getting first light tonight and thankfully the clouds stayed away. The Jetstream was directly above my part of the UK which played havoc with trying to check the optics properly. josefk
Just posting this while finishing up on Saturn again after a long run of doubles overnight. I think I may have made some progress on the (otherwise stalled) AL programme and enjoyed some dainty pairs in Lyra towards the end too. 3 clear nights in 8-days. Have we turned a corner just in time to enjoy the 7 whole minutes of dark we get at about 1am? Edited June 9 by josefk 12
Paz
I've been experimenting getting a good easy set up based on a porta 2 and a 72mm f6 refractor. I can take it straight out at a moments notice with no set up required other than to lift it out of the house and take the caps off.
Sunshine
One advantage of lunar observing is streetlights don’t really matter, and as I store my dob inside the garage it makes for quick setup.
bosun21
Out with the 120ED tonight as the skies are supposed to be clear tonight from midnight onwards. I will occupy myself with the moon while waiting for it to get dark (sort of). Had to readjust the counterweight between photos. I get a better balance with both weights.

bosun21
Got a scope out cooling in anticipation of it remaining clear tonight. Going to go after some carbon stars and a few doubles hopefully.
Vroobel
Is there any chance for an unexpectedly clear sky in NW? The only thing I can do is to collect RGB stars. The good news is that nights will be longer starting tomorrow. 🙂👆 Edit. Indeed, the weather surprised me, 3x60x30s RGB stars were collected. bosun21
Out again with another scope out cooling. This time it's my 10" dobsonian as I am thinking of trying to catch an image of Saturn in the early morning. It's really low in the sky at the moment but with the ADC it may be doable.
josefk
Just enjoying a coffee and a bit of dawn bird spotting after a “near enough” midsummer all nighter. It was never really dark but it was warm and dry so very very pleasant. I hope for an hour of white light Solar in a little while before fully packing up.
bosun21
Third night out this week! Why doesn't this happen when the skies are nice and dark? Back to the 120ED refractor last night and some doubles with a little lunar thrown in, the moon was scraping the horizon when I viewed it. I also observed the Garnet Star (mu cephei) with it's bright red luminance. I need to dedicate a night soon to only Carbon stars. I'm nodding off through the day now due to the three nights observing. It's supposedly clear tonight as well! Oh no!!

AstroNebulee
Not the best image of my set up as it's a handheld smartphone shot and not steady enough. My star adventurer 2i on William Optics wedge and Manfrotto 190go. Canon 600D and Samyang 14mm f2.8 lens. Testing exposure times on the milky-way, summer triangle and Andromeda regions. Clear skies Lee Edited June 29 by AstroNebulee
