Jupiter brightest tonight.

Thanks, Jeff! It's supposed to be 'partly cloudy' here tonight. If at all possible I'll take a nice long look. Thanks again! :)

Well I tried.

It was clear and the transparency was pretty good but by the time Jupiter cleared the trees the seeing turned into jigglymush.

:crybaby:

At last, first opportunity for some observing for ages and the large gasious one looked great, Seeing wasn't brilliant at 00.15, could see some banding but no red spots. Io, Europa, Calisto and Ganymede all very visable.

Stayed with that until the cloud came in at 00.45

I have a clear sky at the moment. Been nice and clear all day so lets hope it stays that way for tonight. I get a cracking view of Jupiter from my bedroom window  Just wish I had a camera to take pics of it

First time I've had my scope out in 2 months but well worth it, Jupiter and the four moons clear as a bell.

I could see two bands across the surface of the planet - this is a first for me!!

Brian.
