Back focus with Atik 414

Recommended Posts

First try with my new Atik. I'm at the limit of my ED80 focus and I've still some way to go to get focus. My optical train only has the 2" to 1 1/4 adaptor, filter wheel and then the camera. I think if I could get my SW 0.85 reducer in I would have enough but I don't have an adaptor that fits. What do I need to get focus?

Thanks

I had one of those cameras a while back, and I had to put around 70mm of extension on the back, a little less but not much with the focal reducer......

i think it is fairly normal

Bill :)

Thanks Bill. Could you give me a link to the type of extension I need please?

Well I used a standard 50mm 2" extension tube with a 2" to SCT thread adapter screwed to the end, as my little frac has an SCT thread on the end.

these two items, but you probably have not got the SCT thread on your scope, so maybe the 80mm version from the first link...
