The conditions were poor, breezy , sky was not dark, town light pollution, I forgot to save my video ( 7x 18 secs)  , but I am still pleased with the result of one of my snapshots, straight from the camera, no processnig etc , the Atik Infinity has great potential, cant wait to get a decent sky lol

Very nice first DSO!  Could probably stand to be in slightly tighter focus; you can get a Bhatinov mask for a song and get to perfect focus in seconds every time.  Keep the posts comin!

Thanks, yes good advice, I was thinking on how to improve my focus and I am leaning toward the Bhatinov Mask now, must remember to save my video to a folder next time for some post processing options lol I got a bit too excited at seeing an image on the screen for the first time!!, the conditions although no moon were really poor so I cant wait to set up at  Winscar Res or later in October up at Keilder Forrest . What I have found is that although a late starter at this when 64yr old the hobby has now turned into a passion, wish I had started years ago really do.

The cloudy nights soon become distant memory with one good viewing session for sure !!!

Hello Eric

I have been doing this great hobby for a couple of years now . Even now , I still get so excited that all reasoning goes out the window .  It keeps me motivated and I never lose that sense of wonder , when the image pops up like magic. I also bought a Bahtinov mask after advice on this forum . Never without one now...even after the first one smashed after dropping off the scope ( delicate things ) . I wish you well and clear skies..... Alan.
