I think sometimes we (or at least I) get obsessed about being able to see the entire sky.

With the introduction of the new white streetlights, which are brighter lower down than the old orange ones, but seem to have a 'cut-off' that makes the sky above them darker, I did a search of the UGC catalogue ["limiting diameter of 1.0' and/or limiting apparent magnitude of 14.5"] to see how many of those galaxies pass within 10 degrees of my zenith. I found 2630 of them.

I don't think I will be running-out any time soon ...

Indeed. At home I usually look towards the east which is easiest. Although recently I got some more view towards the south. I get different constellations through the season. But I save other directions for when I observe some other place.
