Taken a few nights back, The Milky Way directly overhead early morning.

Taken on a camera tripod with the Nikon D3100, standard 18mm stock lens, 10 shots at 1600 ISO, F5.6, 15 seconds each. Aligned and stacked in RegiStar then finished in PaintDotNet.

Nice- the best bits of the Milky Way are rather near the horizon for us!

I think you get to see a different part of the Milky Way to us in the Southern hemisphere LJ certain times of the year when it is up.

Really beautiful images, Dave. The skies here are too light polluted to get anything like these. Well done.

Mike

If you have a digital SLR Mike, a short drive away from the city lights will make all the difference for some great shots.
