Just been reading some news reports about the transit of Mercury that also included images of people observing it and the methods they used, it included this image :eek: , would you use these,

I actually saw Mercury in my 9x50 finder so it's perhaps more easily seen than expected. Still wouldn't use those bins though!! ??

I didn't say it couldn't  be seen, I said it was too small.....for me anyway.

Fair enough, but if that's all you've got, better to see it than not in my book. The real issue is about making sure it's done safely and that can be with binoculars or a scope.
