SkyWatcher Star Discovery 150P - Non Collimatable

Recommended Posts

Evening all,

So on my (fairly long) quest to get a new 'scope, i watched this video today.

Seems the OTA's primary cant be collimated.

Thoughts?  Anyone have one of these?

For me, this is a bit of a worry, but the chap in the video, from his comments in the comments section, seems to suggest that all is fine, and its possibly the future...

Thanks

C

PS: I'm also interested in any feedback on the 'scope itself, I'm very tempted.

Its VERY Collimatable just a little unorthodox :D I can get the sweet spot on mine in seconds using the barlow laser method. The scope is a lovely bit of kit, mines for sale at mo, only because i need more aperture :p

Its actually really easy to collimate once you get your head around a 4 point system. I loosen all 4 screws and then adjust the mirror in axis, north south, east west for simple and perfect results. Personally i find this

system easier then the 3 point method.
