Cleaning of Mirror within 2" star diagonal

Hi Guys

Looking at the mirror in my 2" star diagonal it really needs a clean.

I notice on the underside of the star diagonal there is a removable plate held in place with 4 philips head screws.

Would removing this plate provide access to the mirror?

if so , what is the preferred method to clean the mirror ?

You can... google telescope mirror cleaning and follow the instructions.. pure soap, distilled water, surgical cotton wool.. etc.

DONT use baader fluid or other fluids!!...

No problem... there are conflicting views, but I've read the horror story's + tried some on an old damaged diagonal (it got dropped and I chipped the mirror years ago).. lets just say it made a pigs ear of it!. I'm with the dont crowd.
