Egg shapped stars

Hello,

This is a single 300s ISO 800 image of M13. I was running PHDLab and saw I had a Polar Alignment error of around 3 arc-minutes. Would this be a possible reason for the trails ?

Next time it would be worth running PHD2's guiding assistant and seeing what it says.

5 minutes shouldn't be showing field rotation, and 3' isn't that bad an alignment.

A quick look at the image shows the eggs aren't in the same orientation (if they were, especially in RA, I'd suspect trailing).

 

It could be collimation or field flatness.
