Mercury transit

Hi, I'm hoping to catch the transit of Mercury if the weather plays ball. I have purchased a solar filter for my scope but I'm unsure which camera to use. I have a Canon 750d and a nex image 5 which one would be best?

Have a go with both. Depending on your scope, you may not get the whole of the solar disc on the Neximage 5 sensor, but you can use that to take a video and stack multiple images and make a mosaic - you should get the whole disc with the 750, so you can try some snaps with that - the transit isn't quick, so take a combination - I'm planning to have a go with my ZWO and DSLR.

I have a skywatcher Explorer 150p is it possible to get an H A filter for my scope, I've looked and can't seem to find any. I would like to try the white light and H A if it's possible and affordable?

Not possible I'm afraid. You need a dedicated Ha scope or refractor with a Quark to see Ha. If there were a cheap way we would all be doing it ??

I figured that would be the answer as I've looked everywhere and could only find the dedicated scopes. But I think the wife might file for divorce If I buy one of those! I'll just have to make do with the white light.

Believe me, that's a whole lot cheaper than a divorce ????. White light observing is great anyway, that's all I have currently and I really enjoy it.
