Walking on the Moon

Whale & Hockey - last one for the season up here

This is what I managed last night - most likely the last deep sky astrophoto session for the season since clouds have moved in, and after that the moon will spoil it, and when it is gone the sky this far north will be too bright for deep sky imaging. Right now it is only reasonably dark between 23.00 and 3.00. So, I look forward to late August. The sky was probably slightly hazy so the data could have been better. While waiting for the sky to darken, I had a go at the moon (18 x 1/1600s at ISO 1600). The galaxy image is 32 x 5 min (unguided since I had some trouble with the computer) at ISO 1600. Both with an Explore Scientific ED127 on an EQ8 and a Canon 60Da.

Sorry for posting a moon here but it is more or less what I can image until late August.
