Hi everyone and many thanks for the warm welcome.

I will try and get over to the Wakefield Astronomical Society – not that far away – some cracking images on the web site. To all the Yorkshire members – I share your pain regarding weather but it's a great place to live (I'm afraid I'm not a native Yorkshire man – born in Liverpool – but don't hold it against me!). Gordon is correct – I wonder how I managed to do anything before retirement – never been so busy. You certainly have a diverse membership in Stargazers – people from all over the world. Looking forward to chatting with folk and hopefully meeting up at some point over in Wakefield. I believe my knowledge of astronomy is pretty superficial at the moment so be prepared for some rather basic questions in the future.
