Skysafari and Wifiscope Direct Connection

Hi, I have managed to set up control of my AstroEq mount with Skysafari via Wifiscope. The only problem is I tend to lose connection with my home network when I am in the back garden. Is it possible to create a direct wifi connection between my ipad or iphone and my laptop.
