advice on webcam please

hello,

i have a skywatcher 127 mak goto scope.

the kids want to take some images of the moon and maybe the iss.

what are your thoughts on this webcam.

This camera is quite old and has a low resolution (640x480) compared to modern webcams and according to the customer Q&A section will not run on Win8 and above. If you want to go down the modified webcam route search the forum for MS Lifecam or take a look at some of the cheaper QHY or ZWO astrocameras.

hi, am running Windows 7 on my laptop.

had a look at the ms lifecam which is in my Price range,

but just wondering if the lifecam would take much to adapt to my scope

as the other one just fits into the lense, i think.

There is also the Celestron Neximage solar system imager which should give better results than the Orion electronic eyepiece.

And also the xbox 360 livevision camera which is even easier to modify than the MS Lifecam.

You will only get a small area of the moon per image unless you use a DSLR.
