March 29, 2016: Second go at Jupiter with ZWO ASI224 and ADC

Recommended Posts

Managed a few shots at Jupiter this evening. Conditions were not perfect, with rather unstable seeing.

I am getting the hang of the ZWO ADC, and the images taken when Jupiter was low in the sky needed no RGB alignment in RS6 at all.

An IR shot a bit later

Another RGB shot, but now I did need some RGB alignment correction in RS6

All images are stacks of 1000 images out of at least 4000. I could keep frame rates at around 80 FPS

Results could be better, but given the seeing I am quite pleased. Setting the ADC is a bit fiddly, but with some practice I should be able to get it right more often.

Nice capture. I have been considering an ADC for some time but have never taken the plunge as yet, not sure why actually. I think it's because it's just yet another variable. I'm sure it would be beneficial.
