Great playing Steve.  When I was a student, I shared a flat with a piper.  Unfortunately, he was a fan of piobaireachd - which was fine but didn't half go on a bit.  I recall 'The Lament of the Haemorrhoidal Grenadier' being a particular favourite (or perhaps I have misremembered the title).

Well done. Great images, and great bagpipe playing too (no expert here, but didn't sound bad to me at all!). The pipes always have a haunted sound to them to me, which goes well with the images too. Hope the neighbors don't mind you practicing them. My son is a drummer in a band, and when he used to practice when he was at home some less understanding neighbors always complained alas! :(

Been half Scottish too I have a love for all things Scottish. Even have a kilt too which I will be wearing again soon for a couple of do's coming up in April & May! :)

I live in Scotland, but not long after I arrived here I found that I just cant stand the pipes? It drove me  crazy to hear several of them in a high street, busking, and they appeared to be  so out of tune ( some of them ?)  just  a horrible noisy drone?

However, not long back, I was privileged  enough to drive  a coach containing  a  well known Pipe band to one of their several tournaments held up here in Scotland, and I was treated so well, even fed and watered ( non-alcoholic), but I learnt so much that day about the instrument  and how it works, and strangely enough I can  appreciate their use, and even stop and listen.

I have to say though, I enjoyed your piece, not sure of its title, and also a piper friend I met some Years back in Campbeltown who featured in the video,  Mull of Kintyre, is now the pipe major?
I'd be interested in the acoustics from the observatory, that should confuse the neighbours?

Great pictures Steve.

I have an idea, why not bring your bagpipes along to SGL12.

On a cloudy night you would be put on watch, you could then play the pipes when the skies clear to get everyone out of bed:icon_biggrin:

Your pipe playing is very good. I have heard quite a bit in my time having studied at St Andrews, also a member of my rowing club used to be the Queen's bagpiper.

Bravo- what a combination!

I tried to play the Uilllean Pipes about a decade ago,but I think that I lacked the co-ordination to operate the bellows under the right arm, whilst squeezing the bag under the other arm,and playing the chanter at the same time.

I t was a bit like trying to rub your stomach whilst patting your head at the same time!

Hence the old adage that it takes twenty one years to become a Piper!

I never realised how complimentary the Bagpipes would be to Deep Space Imagery.
You've just allied the human race to the Cosmos in a very special way Mr R.
That was very pleasant to see and hear, thanks. very much for that  :icon_salut::icon_salut:.
