Case options for FSQ85

Recommended Posts

It will probably come in a cardboard case with dedicated foam inserts. One option would be to make a plywood case to replace the outer cardboard but use Tak's internal padding. This would be easy to do if you just used aluminium or brass angle to run along each side and maybe piano hinge for the lid.

If your wallet has recovered from the impact of buying the Baby Q then there's ScopeGuard. I can't make the link work but just Google ScopeGuard Telescope Transport Cases. I have one of theirs for my TEC140 but never use it because the instrument is observatory based. Quality is excellent.

You can also try Thomann.de

A few that might do the job: You will have to supply the foam and fit it. I have used their cases and bags and they are good value.

This last one is expensive but built like a tank.
