New to the forum. Been stargazing since I was 10. Brother had an old 80mm Meade refractor. Got a little older an bought my first scope, a Meade 8" Dob. Life got in the way and had to sell it. Focused on other things for a while and wanted to come back to astronomy. Now I just have a Meade 114 EQ. Don't like it much due to the shaky tripod so I am looking at fixing that and working it until I can afford a new scope. Looking at getting a used DSLR to shoot some photos and have come here for advise. Hope to be a worthy contributor to the site.

As we say in this part of Yorkshire 'owdo! You could put your scope on a AZ3 mount which won't cost the earth until you can upgrade to a better scope with a better mount for use with a camera too. I use my Skywatcher Startravel 120 refractor on an AZ3 mount and it is pretty sturdy. Great for grab and go astronomy sessions too.

Either way, welcome, and enjoy the views! :)
