Solar activity - 20 Mar 2016

The sky just cleared here so I set-up my solar gear. There is lots of activity going on around the limb and the seeing is excellent.

Get out there if you can!!!!

Derek, I too have been lucky and I have had a good hour of sunshine. Indeed there are are some nice proms about the limb, two of which are showing detachments  (2 O'clock and 6 O'clock positions ) The 6 O'clock prom looks just like a large gas flame. The clouds are back now but it was nice to get some viewing in.

I have just tried a Meade 5000 26mm Plossl that I have on loan, Iam pretty impressed with the views and it still achieved a full disc... the extra magnification also made a positive difference.
