Thanks guys! Without doing a proper comparison with and without the ADC in good seeing its hard to say how much difference its making Michael. I am tempted to try without so I can use my 5x powermate :-)

Here is another from slightly earlier (22.54ut) again combining 4 mins in winjupos. Given this one a bit more umph to bring out the detail.

Nice work as usual there Stuart. It's nice to see people have finally had some improvement in conditions and there have been a decent number of good shots posted recently. It's such a shame that conditions have been so poor this Jup season. No one has got close to the quality of last years shots from what I remember. I only got one shot that I would call half decent this year and kind of gave up on planetary as it was just pot luck as to whether you'd get poor or really poor conditions once you were set up !!!

Was out doing some DSO last night and noticed Mars at ~2.30am. It's really low so I don't hold out much hope for many decent Mars shots later in the year either. Such a shame. Think you'll really need that ACD on full song when you capture Mars.

Two lovely images there Stuart - certainly whirls within the red spot visible. Know what you mean about the fuzziness - was experiencing the very same here. You have came through despite! Concur with what Freddie says re Mars - going to be tricky here I reckon.

                                            Best regards,

Thanks Freddie! I'm not sure about giving up on Jupiter just a week after opposition. As John McEnroe would say......"YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!" ;-)

Cheers Ralph! Went out again last night and had similar conditions. Frustrating when there is no Jetstream. I think there are thermals coming off the house roof after a sunny day and the air temperature still being low.

Thanks Harvey!

Cheers Tyson, the easiest way to use winjupos is to take consecutive 1-2 minute Avis and then derotate the stacked images rather than derotating a long avi.

Steve.
