Wow Psychobilly (qu'est-ce que c'est?) those are breath-taking pictures. The trees with the ridges of earth in front is beautiful.

Sorry you are poorly-bad. I suppose squishing up next to me at the quiz pushed you over the edge....(!)

LOL...  It was great to see you both again and share our knowledge of all things "Dudley"... :)

Still off my feet and dosed up on painkillers  :(

Hi all.  Bank home in West Yorkshire after the long trip back.  Decided to spend a little time having a play with the Subs of M42 that I captured on Sunday under the light of a cresent moon.

This is very much a work in progress, but wanted to share the beginnings.   When I sit down to process this properly, I'm going to start again from the DSS output, and follow the narrow band processing workshop notes from saturday, with any luck the results will be even better.  This image is the result of 20 * 3 min stubs, with darks, flats and bias.  I also have 20* 30 second subs which should let me fix the blown out trapezium.   All the subs were taken at ISO800.

Yep sorry Ron... I  had to be in place before the sun rose above the hills...

Although I am now paying for it - Carrying the kit over one shoulder for so long has probably caused or at least not helped the back problem :(

Peter...

Great pictures as usual!

Hope that the back eases. Us non photographers often forget that these views don't just happen.

I was delighted to see so many of us there, and so many Mobile Units & Caravans.
Tents are OK, but when my heater tripped out  on Saturday night, I woke up frozen, even in a sleeping bag, and a couple of blankets.
I crawled out and re tried the heater, thankfully it fired up, and I soon recovered. I must be a wimp :icon_biggrin:.  Pity about the lack of Astronomy, although I understand some had a little success, If only for brief periods.
I Got some random camp site  Images, just with my Phone Cam., but sadly, my Astro Image Virginity is still Intact :D.

I now know why I prefer hiding behind the camera rather than being caught infront of one

Stop that young Smith. You have oodles of Character, you laugh a lot, and you are one of the most  generous and helpful
people I've ever met. What a person looks like reveals very very little about them. FACT!!

I need to grab the few shots I took off my DSLR, but I submit this one and claim it to be a star party image because i) I took it on the same day as the star party, after I got home and ii) I took it with a camera I bought at the star party!!!

That counts then, yes??! :)

Hey, it's the first image I've taken in who-knows-how-long!!!

There's enough in your explanation to qualify the Image as a Star Party piece of work Daz.
Don't use the same one next time though, or you will be Reported.
I didn't know you were a Moon Man :icon_biggrin:.
