Is all dust this hard to clean?

I was just trying to clean my EPs, and decided to try with a football pump. I cut up a straw and stuck it on to make the pressure higher, but the dust still won't budge. The blow seems pretty powerful - so much so that the eyepiece starts to wobble when I use it!

My question is, will a proper dust blower be any better?

Thanks

I use one of these:

It produces a very powerful but concentrated air blast which shifts most dust particles.

For more stubborn stuff (eg: eyelash grease) I use the Baader Wonder Fluid and their micro fibre cloth:

So there is a small initial investment but I've found the above lasts ages and delivers great results.

I think it is more common to wipe them instead of blowing, with cleaning material.

You should always blow first - to remove any material that might scratch the lens / coatings when you wipe.

Blowers for me usually either blow the dust out ,or just to another spot...

I've found turning the glass surface upside down as you blow helps. Gravity then helps the particles to fall away from the glass rather than back onto it.

In between applying a few blasts from my Grottus Rocket Air Blower and an application of Baader optical fluid / micro cloth, I very occasionally and ever so lightly, might consider employing the use of an artists fine sable brush.

Good process on cleaning optics found here

I also use a large and very soft camel hair make up brush, wasn't cheap but is incredibly soft! If the blower doesn't shift the dust I use the brush, if that doesn't shift it I use the wonder fluid and Baader cloth
