Sirius 9798, colour trail

Recommended Posts

Inspired by David Pye's Sirius 9798 image at last years Astrophotographer of the year I tried a go at a Sirius star trail to show the colours as it twinkles. A very effective technique, nothing fancy Canon 450, 10 second exposure, the colours are amazing.

Nice work, now who wants to program up their scope to draw an etch-a-sketch style picture? ;)

Is this close enough?

It's my dithering pattern. Sorry, no trails though. I think that if you have a guiding system and mess around with the settings, you could end up with an interesting result.
