Eyepiece Dew

Recommended Posts

I have used part of a camping mat to make a dew shield for the end of my telescope. Can I use this same material to make a shroud that goes around the eyepiece in the hope to prevent eyepiece dew. This shroud would be slack enough to slip on and off when changing eyepieces and fit from the diagonal up to the eyerim. Do you think this would work or is it best just to keep the eyepiece warm before use?

I wonder as to the practicality of a box lined with a cloth-covered heating pad, and set to either low or medium as conditions dictate.

You've got me thinking how I might use a spare channel on my heater controller!
