Narrowband

Orion belt. First attempt with my 70-300 zoom.

Recommended Posts

50 X 4 sec, F6.3 100mm, 100d (modded), static tripod, darks and bias, DSS, Photoshop.

This is my first go with the 'L' glass zoom and I'm pleased with the result! Can see the running man but can't see the horsy... Bit of a gradient... tried to get rid of it but DBE added a blue hue and noise so went back to the original.

And here is a single sub from the same session with my 15-85 zoom, 20 secs, f6.3, 22mm, just smoothed, sharpened and colour balanced.

Mmmm  sodium! Actually, I like the effect.  I have been wanting to stack a widefield background like this and then overlay the local foliage for a while, but cant seem to get the effort to attempt it!

You have a bit of flame nebula in your first image too!
