There is something goofy with the weather, have you noticed?

We all know the weather over the last year or so has been pretty poor, astronomy wise.

But has anyone else noticed that the usual trend of clear skies near full moon has been almost reversed for the last few months, with clearest spells occuring near or on new moon?

Normally you can count new moon plus clear sky nights for a year on one hand, and near full moon plus clear sky nights on both hands and both feet.

Anyone else noticed the swing?

It seems to be cloudy all the time down here!  I reckon at least nearly 3 months since clear skies were available at night

We seemed to have stunning clear skies right up until I bought my first telescope in October!! 

Still, I suppose the rare chance I get to use it makes it kinda special...
