I went up to The Astronomy Centre this afternoon to use Peter Drew's 6 inch PST-Mod.  I wanted to try takings some pictures with my Olympus E-M5, which Peter kindly let me do.  As it would happen, some flaring activity started around 3.20pm and I managed to take some pics as it unfolded.  This was my first time taking surface detail with this setup so please excuse the rather uneven processing.

The pics below were all taken with the Olympus at 640 asa and were all on 1/400 sec, or within a stop of or so.    In order, the pics were taken at 3.04pm, 3.21pm, 3.37pm and 3.46pm.

Thank Alexandra.  If you ever want to go and you think the weather looks as if it might be ok, PM me close to the time (say a  day before) and I could give you a last minute update before you are due to leave home.  You're right to be cautious as the weather can be rather changeable.
