Hi and welcome cec.

Maybe show us a single sub of your orion. I think there is more possible with that much subs and we can give you some tips. Also tell us something about your camera and the used Software.

Thanks for your nice comment about my color moon.

Hello calli,

Some help would be great :hello2:
Camera info: Nikon D200.

The subs are all ISO 1600 and exp.time 1.3 sec. Also took dark frames, bias frames and flat frames. Used Deep Sky Stacker to stack them, and then some adjustments with levels/curves in Photoshop. I only have a free trial period of Photoshop, and have not much experience with it, yet.
The subs are too big to upload, so used snipping tool to get it in here.

@KRYPTON Your image is great by the way! One image or a stack?

Hi Cec

The image was taken on a Canon SLR unmodified through a 200mm Skywatcher. It is a stack of 36 32sec exposures.

Cec,

I would not expect that much noise in the result. Did you follow the advice to never touch the right point of the level tool in PS?

Maybe repost a sub and result in the getting started with imaging forum. You can use some of the filehosters or cloud services to upload bigger images for us to check.

I think there will be more reply and tips from the pros.

Cheers,

Carsten

Hi again, to be honest I don't know much photoshop so I migth have done something that I wasn't suppose to. But I think the autosave from DSS also is very noisy.
Thanks for the tip, I'll post it there later on :)
