Monochrome Widefield Orion

Now i dont know if i'd call this cheating - but i did a monochrome version of this because it just feels so much easier to bring out the little detail in this image without creating too much background noise in the colour version . I think i like this more than the colour version

Unmodified Canon 50D, Sigma 50-500mm APO F/4.5-6.3, SW EQ5, 30 x 120s ISO 800

Sorry but cant remember what focal length this was taken at! taken in a very light polluted aberdeen

That has come out very well. Four of the most iconic objects in the sky in one image, i like the mono look as well.

Quite nice Abodee. I'm sure there would be a way to add colour to your mono pic too.

Looking at the framing and if not cropped i would guess at somewhere around 200mm. Nice image.

Thank you for the comments! i've finished playing around with it and i think this is the best i can get here.

I think you're right symesie, my memory isn't great but i think it was somewhere around 200mm or 250mm.
