NGC 2174 Monkey Head Nebula

From Wednesday night using my ED80 on the AVX and aquired using Canon 1200d (modded) with UHC-E filter and Backyard EOS. Between the clouds I managed to get 15 light subs of 400 secs at 1600 ISO. This is my first image aquired after doing a PA using the QHYCCD Polemaster and I got really good guiding. It actually looks like a monkeys head (laying down).

The monkey head likeness is very obvious indeed, you stars look tight and round so your Polemaster must be doing a good job! Those diffraction spikes from an ED80 might raise the blood pressure of a few purists though

I added the diffraction spikes from star spikes pro - I like to see the odd spike here and there.

Now that is a clean piece of work! What a masterly background sky. And it looks very natural because the left hand side of the Monkey arises very gradually from it.
