For visual it'll be the 16" Sumerian and 10x50 bins, and for imaging it'll be DSLR + lens (or 150p) on AZ-EQ6, or if the bank manager / boss allows it, maybe even CCD and WO star 71!

If anyone wants to come check out the Sumerian, you're more than welcome. I'd particularly be interested in eyepiece and filter tests!

This is all weather dependant of course.

Hi Jon, will be bringing my box of expensive TVs so we can try them, are you still on 107 or have you gone off to join the Dob Mob ?

Not sure what to bring - I have a new Equinox 120 Apo that needs a proper workout, plus I have a TAL 125r and a rather nice Skylight f13 (100mm). And some bins.

Maybe I'll bring the lot, depends how much room I have in the car once I've got all the camping gear and the az-eq6 in! Plus supplies - warm clothing, super warm boots and restorative drafts of Talisker and dark rum!

CPC1100, Flextube 400P Dob, ED120, TV Pronto, Skylight F16.7, Lunt 50Ha, Pentax Bins - all bases covered I think

Might bring the Polarex-Unitron 60mm if I have space so that you can all help me sand down the legs of the tripod

Bring them all.  Just offload the nonessentials - like clothes.  you don't really need them.  Astronomers are supposed to be a hardy bunch ;-)

Also, you could simply wear all your clothes at once to save space.

Hello Guys

I think it's about time to start my usual thread.

Just wondering what Astronomy gear are you all thinking of bringing to Lucksall this year?

I am just bringing my 9.25" SCT and my ED80 refractor with various new eyepieces I have bought and I may even bring a WO  Binoviewer!

Very much looking forward to the event indeed and meeting you guys and just to let you know that this will be my fifth year....

Clear Skies

Best regards,

Hadyn - Isle of Man

:hello2:

I've only just spotted this thread but you are going to need some bigger panniers :icon_biggrin:.

Hello Mark

I have not long ago bought a big sidecar for the BMW, so I should be okay. Not quite big enough though for converting into a mobile observatory, ha, ha...

Best regards,

Hadyn - IOM

I'm tempted just to bring a tent and look through everyone's scopes ! So many friendly faces there, it'll be a pleasure just to catch up .

Usually end up glued to my fracs though,

going to be dew heaters,102 Vixen and C6r. Anyone wanting to have a look is very welcome,

clear skies !

Will be adding an Altair 72mm ED F6 for full disk views of the Sun through my Quark. The voices told me I had to buy it

I'm off to oxford on Saturday to pick up a mount. I will be bringing a RC6 on a HEQ5 and trying to image a least something lol

Well that's put the mockers on the weather then, bad enough buying new gear at the best of times but for a star party it'll be the kiss of death :)

Beer, boots, and bits and bobs. It will be great to meet the frac pack and the dob mob!

And it won't be hard to bring the entire kit of two scopes and mounts:  ED80 and Starwave 152.

looking forward to seeing some big glass at camp :happy9:
