Hello, first post

I've been lurking for a while gathering info with a view to getting a telescope for Christmas for my eldest son and I to do some stargazing.

I bought a Heritage 130p which we've managed to get out only twice over the holidays due to some miserable wet and windy weather in Cornwall. We did have amazing skies yesterday morning and last night though. We saw the Moon in great detail and Jupiter and her moons clearly (could just about make out banding) as dawn broke and scanned the clear sky rather aimlessly in the evening, which was great.

Back to London shortly but appetite has been well and truly whetted.
