Olympus DPS-I binos 8x40 or 10x50?

I've got an Amazon voucher to spend and thought I'd invest in a pair of the above binos, but I'm wondering which pair would be better suited for astro use. Should I go for lighter weight and wider field? Or higher mag and contrast?

I'm sure the advice here will be split 50/50, there are pros and cons for both.

My 2p's worth, go for the 8 x 40, I use 8 x 42 and find them very easy to use but am not sure that the higher mag. and heavier 10 x 50 would be steady enough to hand hold for long periods.

What ever you chose you will get some great views.

Cheers, I was leaning towards 8x40 for that reason, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making a mistake, I'm not well up on binos.
