I have just checked out the specifications and see that it comes with an H20 eyepiece (EP), 1.5x Barlow, and either H6 or SR4 EP. In the former case you reach 60x and 90x with and without Barlow, respectively, if an SR4 is used 90x and 135x respectively. Depending on conditions, 90-100x is the maximum you could really get from a 50mm scope, and 50-60x is probably going to be better. Besides, the H6 and SR4 eyepieces have very narrow field of view (FOV), and fairly poor performance. The H20 is generally a bit better. I got much better performance out of a small refractor (also supplied with H20 and H6 EPs) by using the barrel of the H20 and inserting a Kelner type 25mm EP from a broken pair of binoculars into it. Much wider FOV and much crisper image. Geting a cheap Plossl (like a 6.3mm often seen) or even a 10mm for use with the Barlow to replace the H6 will also make a big difference.

It has a 0.965 focuser, which is going to limit the options. It looks like a nasty toy. The sort of thing that puts people off astronomy.

I agree with what Michael as said pretty much. Keep the magnification low for most of the time, power is not always the best thing even with the biggest of scopes.

0.965" fitting is not ideal, but you still can get better EPs for it

With an adaptor, these can be used after upgrading to a better scope with 1.25" fitting
