Tiny Jupiter

Recommended Posts

A baby Jupiter from last week.  ED80TCF, Neximage Burst ccd, 2x barlow, EQ-G mount, icap, registax. Second Jupiter attempt - improvement in color and detail.  First time using EQMOD/Stellarium to guide Atlas EQ-G mount, fun controlling telescope from inside vs being in cold outside.

Thanks, maybe, but this set up turns any dwelling into instant observatory.  Set up scope, polar align,  go inside, have drink / observe.  My Nikon says not to operate below 32 F, I worry I might damage it when temp drops.  Little ccd can handle -40 C, no need to sit outside and stare at it.   Ordered better ccd, hoping atik infinity will improve observatory view.
