wow thats a superb image Rog, one of the best i've seen around. Your focus is spot on. I take it those are fake defraction spikes - the cotton thread trick?

Ho hum Fake ones are added in processing, *real* ones are got at the time of capture. Well, *I* think so anyway

That's a great one. You can easily see the propeller in that. Nice!

That is wonderful! What a thrill to see it like that. It's a grey smudge in my scope. I saw it like this in a 17.5" Dob last year. Like a softball full of stars, at arm's length. Great shot!

Arthur you are right. Fake was the wrong word. Artificial spikes i meant to say. Knowing that Rog uses an SCT and 80ED, the norm is to put a cross over the front.

Defraction spikes are great, I always forget to do this.
