There are many publications on observing the stars, and a visit to your local library could be of benefit. You reside in Cardigan, Wales,  an interesting part of the country, as access to some very dark skies should not be too far away, enjoy the forum

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome. Yes looking forward to get stuck in. I have bought a few books including the Phillips stargazing 2016. Just trying to get my head around the equatorial mount
