Recommended Posts

This image was captured using a TS Imaging Star71 telescope with an Atik 460 EX Mono CCD camera fitted with Baader CCD narrowband filters.  Total exposure time is 17 hours of 20 minute sub-exposures split evenly across the HA, OIII and SII filters.  Capture was performed using Sequence Generator Pro, guiding with PHD2 on an EQ8, stacking and processing with PixInsight with some minor post processing in Adobe Photoshop at the very end.  The image is a crop of the full frame to show the most interesting features (and because the full Heart Nebula does not fit within the FOV).

The image was taken over 6 nights in November 2015 spanning from the 6th to 28th.

Looking good Ian though is there a slight misalignment on some stars as they are blue on one side and red/orange on the other?

Hi Freddie it's possibly from tilt not really sure but I will take a closer look with the data.  Thanks for spotting it!

Thanks everyone glad you enjoyed it.
