Hello everyone,just signed up to the forum,live in altrincham,always been intrested in the night sky and now my 9 year boys started to ask questions about whats up there because school did a bit of a project on space,just about to buy my first scope ,think it will be the skywatcher explorer 200,so we can both learn more about whats to see,do have a bit of knowledge looking around the night sky so any helpfull suggestions are most welcome! Will more than likely be asking lots more questions shortly,thank you

Hi. Nice telescope to kick off with. Not a great fan of Equatorial mounts myself, but you should get some great views through the scope. If you have a tablet see if you can get an astronomy app to help you when observing. A good book too is always handy, but with some apps you can set the tablet (or phone if you prefer) to night mode (screen shown in red) so it doesn't mess with night vision.
