IC1396 - Elephants trunk 2 pane mosaic in bicolour

Recommended Posts

This has been a fill in for a load of nights while I have waited for my main targets to get high enough to image. It was taken 3 exposures at a time in each pane, so did do on for a bit!!

This is a bicolour mosiac of 2 panes, with Ha and OIII data. I welcome thoughts on this :)

Its nice to see the whole of this target at this kind of resolution,

makes for a lot more work but worth it in the end

Very nicely done Sara,

I like the composition of this image, would make a great wall

poster, something different from the rectangular types

well done

Paul

Sara, I love the subtle colouring in this and the unusual vertical presentation - it's crying out for the 'scroll' treatment before hanging in the hall!

Stunning...

Just spent the last hour going over your website, interesting information there, especially the rubbish-in-rubbish-out :) Experimenting a few stacking-tests myself now :)

Cheers everyone! I'm glad that you like it. It was only a fill in while I waited for something else :D I took a bit of a gamble with the framing I think, certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea, really elongates the nebula.

I appreciate your comments :)

Hard to see how this could be improved. As I said on the pre-colour version I think the marriage of object and format is one made in heaven (or at least in Cepheus... )
