Hope this series of rather unspectacular comet images isn't a bit boring.

Unexpected clear morning.  Very windy so took picture from inside the house through open front door, un-tracked as couldn't polar align ;)

Canon 7D MkII, 200mm @f2.8, iso 1600 for 2 secs.

Cropped and stretched in Photoshop CS2.

Tails at 2 and 5 o'clock...

...good hunting!

Good shot. Hope to view it at some point over the weekend if possible with the weather. :)

Nice shot!

Coincidentally, I have relatives in Low Row but have never taken a scope up there when the sky's been clear - it must be one of the best places in the country to stargaze - very envious

@Highburymark....

...it certainly is dark!  Part-night lighting is also due soon (for the few lights).

Always bring your binoculars!  :)

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul,

It's good to know someone is taking advantage of those amazing skies - it's a magical place.

Definitely will bring my Equinox next visit - we sometimes go for Christmas, though sadly not this year.

Nice to see it if the weather plays fairly tomorrow. I will get out there myself again, it is good news that it has improved in visibility as you mentioned in your other thread.
