hate cloudy rainy nights

Was just getting to use my new telescope and the good old UK weather has stopped play, I suppose living in the northern hemisphere this is one of the hazards of astronomy?

Yeah, supposed to be clear here where I live too between 10pm and midnight. I'll believe it when I see it though and won't hold out too much hope!

Looking at the jet stream forecast we could be in for a change over the next couple of weeks as it moves south of the UK allowing cooler air in from the north.

So it will be cold, wet and cloudy rather than warm, wet and cloudy

Nice and clear here tonight but not a thing i can do about it. I'm not allowed to do much sitting down still and i spent way too long sitting in traffic this evening coming from Dublin to Kildare. My whole body is one big ache.

I can't believe it. Took the dog for a walk and was amazed to find clear skies. Going out soon for a look about. All I have to do is dodge the fireworks.

Ditto, except its wet and horrible underfoot and the fuzz around the streetlamps - is gone!

Cripes, I've just blu-tacked an IR filter into my 400mm lens's t-mount, thrown the mount into PA, focused as fast as I can (looks OK on a 1:20 exposure - fingers crossed), lined up the camera with the long axis of Cygnus, put Deneb in the top right corner, set it off for 40 80-second subs, now all I can do is cross my fingers and wait.

For me, August was delightful due to a drought, albeit with some mosquitoes still.  Said conditions drifted into September a bit, but then occasional showers began picking up their pace, although with ample observing nights until recently.  Now, here in Novemeber, I've only seen a relatively clear sky for about an hour in the last two weeks.  I've always despised rain; the mud and muck in particular.

Typical, 4 nights off work was cloudy and foggy, I'm back on now for 6 12hr nightshifts and stood here inbetween the trailers in the distribution centre looking at...STARS....aaaaarrrgghh

Got my new kit today but because it was meant to be cloudy tonight i left it how it got delivered ... And what do you know, you can blumming spot Uranus with your naked eye ... So peed off

Update, clear sky's in East Yorkshire tonight, loving it, loving it, trying to photograph star trails for the first time, evening got the scope aligned first attempt......
