Hi Jess and welcome to SGL, you might like to take a look at ...Themcdonalds.net for very informative instructions on setting up and using the equatorial mount. Astro_Baby`s web site is also worth a visit, as there are articles on stripping and degreasing the EQ5 to help to stop it sounding like, what most describe as a coffee grinder, there are also in depth instructions on Polar aligning which I am sure you will find helpful. That is a very nice scope you have acquired, enjoy using it an the forum
