Then and now....

It's been a steep learning curve but slowly getting there. Before and after images, only 2nd time I have imaged both of them. 1st time was in February this year and M42 was my 1st ever capture with a Helios 114m, Nikon D3200,(30secs) EQ1 with clock drive and the same for M31. 2nd time was in late September just gone but with an EQ6, Nikon D3200, SW200pds, ZWO/St80 guided.

6 x 300secs

3 x Dark

6 x Bias

no flats

Dss/CS6/L-Room. Still a little noisy but working on it.

Nice before and after shots there Manny. You must be doing something right.

Can you remember what camera settings you shot the before photo with. I tried for the first time M42 the other night and managed to bring out many more stars in my shot, but no signs of the nebula.

Thanks, just found some details on before shot of M31- Nikon d3200,200mm zoom lens, 90 x 20 secs. iso1600. Can't find any details on M42 before but was probably at iso1600. 

Apologies, actual details for M31 after image is-

8x300sec
15x600secs

5 dark ,17 Bias.
