steviemac500 1,021
I had a go at The Sisters the other night. I've had a go at processing and I think its a nice image but id like to get the deep blues of nebulosity which is kind of hinted at in mine. I did 50 subs at 75s, ISO 800. 20 darks and 22 bias. I did flats as well but there was a funny line across the top of the image which really affected the picture so I removed them. Any tips?
glowingturnip 1,247
looking good, you've definitely caught the nebulosity and it looks nice and sharp. Might want to persevere again with the flats though, you've got definite vignetting going on, and that might explain why you've rather oddly got white nebulosity and blue background

AstroAdam 173
Ive always found it difficult to really bring out the nebulosity at shorter exposures. In comparison, I did my first 10 minute exposures a few weeks ago, on this very object to see what I could get out of it - always been disappointed in the past). Integration time very similar to yours (with a modded 1100D at ISO800 - 6x10 min exposures with darks flats and bias). Guessing you're not guiding yet?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
AstroAdam 173
By the way, scope is f/7 102ED Starwave. Mounted on HEQ5. Exposures were guided with phd2 and a finder guider. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited October 23, 2015 by AstroAdam
