this is my first sol post , sorry about the colour, taken with AR127L and sony alpha, 2 pane mosaic ,its not stitched very well had to do it by hand as ice would not play ball. ive still got a lot to learn about sol images, all tips will be welcome. thanks for looking charl..

Good start Charl. Mosaic's in white light are always tricky. Generally speaking there isn't enough detail in the white light disk for MS Ice to lock onto. I think I have only ever managed one and that was recently when the disk was littered with spots giving ICE a bit of a chance.

Reminds me, I want to go back and have a second go at processing that image.....

Keep at it, as Tzitzis says, no substitute for experience.

thanks dave, ill nock the mosaic on the head in whitelight and just use a reducer and go for a normal disc untill theres more detail. clear skys charl..

that's looking good dude, as above have said all have to start somewhere an practice always helps in long run, just to say that when I use the 6" newt i can get you a whole disc shot, your 8" should produce a whole disc as same FL but better the devil you know, not sure if you have a white light filter for that.

White light mosaics are very hard indeed. Still you caught some spots

Excellent images :) even the best software struggles with white light, especially when there are very few spots.

update,  reprocessed the image with there being no sun today. i think its better.  thanks for looking  charl
