New Nasa image of Jupiter (Video)

Recommended Posts

I think the Ancient Greeks and Romans named the planets after their Gods.

Earth is classed as Mother earth, but why I've no Idea. Perhaps earth is the cradle for us all, and a cradle is associated with a Mother and child.

Pure Guesswork.

I should also point out that the planet has two systems. System 1 and System 2.

The Equatorial region rotates faster than the Polar regions by 5 minutes.

It's well worth reading about the dynamics of Jupiter.

With all this bad weather around, it is always a good opportunity to

read up on the Solar Systems other planetary bodies.

A mine of Information about little Pluto will no doubt be

placed on record in a forthcoming publication no doubt,

and who would have thought that that small world would turn out

to become a Star of the suns family.

I know it is a minute object in a Telescope, but nevertheless, it should be a target for anyone to seek out.

Learning about our Solar family will add to the magic of viewing planets through your telescope,

especially if you are armed with some knowledge of the makeup and structure of the planet

you are observing. You will also impress any  companions who may be with you too
