Sky Quest xx12

Recommended Posts

I just got my new telescope and I can't obtain focus with my Baader Hyperion 2 inch eyepieces , do I need extenders or something for these to work ? The Orion eyepiece they sent me is about a half inch longer than these Baader eyepieces and it works great . Thanks for any help !

I agree, use them as 1.25 eyepieces.  However, your xx12 like my XT12g should have come with an extension tube to use with 2 inch eyepieces.

According to the Orion USA site, the telescope is supposed to arrive with the following "in the box:"

If skf says the scope should have an extension for 2-inch EP's, then I'd give Orion a call and politely inquire about the missing article. I've done quite a bit of business with Orion over the years, and they have always been quite happy to go by the credo - getting more unusual in the US - "the customer is always right."

One thing does concern me regarding the 'In The Box' list: The free Starry Night Special Edition. I suggest you take a read of this thread by Yours Truly before you plug that into your CD-drive:

CD's make a dandy pizza-cutter if you stick a pencil through the hole.....

Enjoy the scope - looks like a very nice one!
