Mysterious ripples around nearby star

I stumbled across this story on the BBC website but found a more comprehensive report on Sky and Telescope.

Interesting stuff!

I had to smile at the concept of something which is 32 light years away as being described as "nearby"

for me this typifies the 'nature' of science (for the most part); make observations then try find out what the H is going on, with a nod to a blind horse about our current state of knowledge or technology.
